We’ve been going state-by-state here at Peak Personal Finance to find the best home mortgage rates available. Today, we’re looking for the best home loans in North Carolina.

We are making assumptions, of course. The assumption is of a credit score of at least 700 (FICO) or better, cash on hand for fees, cash or equity to cover up to 20% in down payment, and that this is a full-time dwelling for the buyer.

30-Year Fixed Best Home Mortgage Rates in North Carolina
Olympic Mortgage Consultants has a 4.75% interest (4.846% APR) with 0.5 points and $995 in fees with a 30-day lock in. Removing that half point raises the rate to 4.875% (4.928% APR).

The Money Store has a similar offer at 4.75% interest (4.837% APR) with no points and $1,650 in fees with a 30-day lock in.

Bank of America offers a 4.875% interest (5.083% APR) with 1.5 points, $1,400 in fees, and a 30-day lock in period.

15 Year Fixed Best Mortgage Rates in North Carolina
For this term, The Money Store has a 4.25% interest (4.395% APR) with no points, $1,595 in fees and a 30-day lock in period.

Bank of America has a 4.25% interest as well (4.528% APR) with $1,400 in fees and 1 points on 30 days to lock it in.

Quicken Loans has 4.25% (4.662% APR) with 1.75 in points, $1,600 in fees and a 45-day lock in rate.

5/1 ARM Best Home Loans in North Carolina
If an adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) loan is best for you, then Olympic Mortgage Consultants has a 3.5% (3.568% APR) offer with 1 point, $395 in fees, and 5/2/5 in caps (1st/add/life).
