Intervest Bank offers a number of savings account but its CD accounts remain popular with investors. CD accounts ensure higher interest rates and complete security of investment. Following is a compilation of Intervest cd rates as of April 5, 2010.

Ten year CDs ensure the highest Intervest Bank CD rates. A 10-year CD at the bank will return an APY of 2.85%. The lowest possible duration of a CD at Intervest Bank is that of six months where a CD returns an APY of 0.80%.

Other invest certificate of deposit rates include 1.40% APY for one year CD. An 18-month CD returns an APY of 1.55%. A 2-year CD returns an APY of 1.80% at the bank.

Bank CD rates for a 30-month CD are 2.05% whereas a three year CD will return an APY of 2.20%. A 4-year CD at the bank offers an APY of 2.50% and a five year CD will return an APY of 2.75%.

The best CD rates at Intervest bank start for investments with durations of five years and more. A six year CD at the bank offers an APY of 2.76% and a seven year CD returns an APY of 2.77%. CD rates for eight years of investment are not much better than those of seven years as the bank merely adds a decimal point with final APY of 2.78%. This is the case with nine years of investment as well where the bank offers an APY of 2.79%. Minimum opening balance is $2,500.

    The rates are actually outstanding given market conditions. If I had to do it over again I’d have placed a lot more 3 and 4 years ago.
