PNC Bank CD Rates

One of our readers here at Peak Personal Finance asked us if we could look at the latest CD rates offered by PNC Bank for them. This is a popular bank in the Pittsburg area, so we quickly complied.

Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services offers a multitude of services for direct banking and Certificates of Deposit investments. The bank plays an important role in the regional banking market and has sufficient branches to cater to the needs of its customers. PNC bank CD Rates are an important determinant of the company’s financial condition and quality of services extended to its customers.

PNC CD rates are accrued after examining the local and national averages and are subject change as per the economic indicators. Fixed rate CDs are the more popular option and are available for a term of seven days to 10 years. A standard one year investment in the Choice/Premium plan of the bank will return an APY of 0.60%. For the Performance Select checking account, it will return an APY of 0.65%.

The best CD rates are available for the 10-year investment as they return an APY of 2.00% for fixed rate and Choice/Premium plan and 2.05% for Performance Select checking accounts. A more standard investment of five year CD returns an APY of 1.55% for fixed rate and Choice/Premium plan and 1.60% for Performance Select checking accounts

PNC certificate of deposit rates for 3-months or 12-months Ready Access are 0.15% APY and 0.60% APY, respectively. They are similar for the Premium and Performance Select accounts. Ready Access accounts provide a safe deposit and guaranteed returns for shorter periods of time. Longer investments, on the other hand, require either fixed-rate CDs or those with a step rate.
