For most of us who’re on the go, online banking is almost as important to us as how stable the bank is and what kind of rates and returns they give on accounts. I know that if I have a choice of two banks and one has great rates, but the other has better online banking, I’m torn as to which one I’d prefer. We here at Peak Personal Finance understand this and so we occasionally review how newer banks are doing with their online banking offers.
TD Banking Online is similar to most other online banking systems. True to TD’s slogan, though, TD Bank Online Banking lives up to the “Amerca’s Most Convenient Bank.” In addition to the standard fare online banking technologies like account balances, transfers, and so forth, TD Banking Online offers a few other bonuses as well.
First, you can view/print and re-order checks for your check-based accounts. Another great little bonus is the ability to personalize your icons on the screen while you’re logged in, which makes for much easier surfing through your account information and switches from account to account.
You can, of course, have important account information changes and updates sent to you through TD Bank Online Banking alerts (email, sms text, etc.) so you always knows what’s happening. You can also download your TD Banking Online information to your favorite financial software like Quicken or MS Money.
The best offer from TD Bank Online Banking, though, has got to be free online bill pay. You can pay nearly any business or individual through the system via wire transfers and you can set up automatic payments for bills like your phone, Internet, or whatever. Every payment made has a 2-way online payment confirmation, so you know it went through.
Definitely worth signing up for if you’re a TD Bank customer, the TD Banking Online system is great.
